Rumor Mill: iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max Allegedly to Feature Graphene Integration, Promising Solution to Heating Concerns

Next-Gen iPhone 16 Pro Series: Enhanced Heat Dissipation Expected, Setting New Standards in Performance

Rumors Suggest iPhone 16 Pro Models to Address Overheating Concerns with Graphene Integration. Reports indicate that Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max iterations might offer a solution to the heating issues that plagued their predecessors. Allegedly, Apple is considering incorporating a graphene layer into these devices to enhance heat dissipation.

Unlike the current titanium frames, which exhibit lower thermal conductivity compared to stainless steel, this graphene sheet could facilitate more effective cooling, potentially averting overheating problems. According to insights from PhoneArena, Apple’s exploration of graphene integration aims to optimize heat management around the phone’s processor, dispersing heat more efficiently and maintaining lower device temperatures.

Speculation regarding Apple’s interest in graphene surfaced previously, suggesting a concerted effort to enhance thermal performance in its flagship smartphones. Leaked information also hints at the possible adoption of a metal bracket for the battery housing, further underlining Apple’s commitment to refining the thermal system in its upcoming devices.

Weeks before that claim was made on the microblogging platform, Apple rolled out the iOS 17.0.3 update with fixes for overheating issues affecting the iPhone 15 Pro models. At the time, the company admitted that its latest phones were impacted by heating issues, while stating that these were actually related to app optimisation issues and software bugs.

Apple’s rumoured iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max aren’t expected to arrive until the third quarter of 2024, so it’s worth taking these rumours with a pinch of salt.

The Cupertino company could use graphene on its upcoming phones, or equip it with a vapour cooling chamber found on high-end Android smartphones. We can expect to hear more details about the iPhone 16 series of smartphones in the coming months.
