Samsung Executive Confirms Timeline for Launch of Galaxy Ring in Second Half of 2024
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is rumored to launch in three different finishes.
During the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, where the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones were unveiled, Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring as a forthcoming health and fitness tracker compatible with the Samsung Health suite. While details were scarce during the event, subsequent leaks and reports have provided insights into its features and design. Now, a senior Samsung executive, Daniel Seung Lee, has confirmed the launch timeline for the Galaxy Ring.
In a LinkedIn post, Daniel Seung Lee revealed that the highly-anticipated Galaxy Ring is set to debut in the second half of 2024. Although he did not provide further specifics or an exact release date, this confirmation aligns with previous speculations suggesting its potential unveiling alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 later this year.
Recent findings on the Good Lock app have also hinted at the imminent launch of the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The ring is expected to be a lightweight wearable available in three color options and various sizes, with support for pogo pin charging.
Previously, Samsung described the Galaxy Ring as a “powerful and accessible health and wellness device.” The official teaser showcased a smooth, round ring equipped with multiple sensors placed on the underside to facilitate health and fitness tracking.
Leaked information suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will likely feature sensors for electrocardiogram (ECG), photoplethysmography (PPG), or atrial fibrillation (AFib) monitoring. Additionally, it is expected to include 24×7 heart rate monitoring, SpO2 measurement, and sleep tracking capabilities. Users can anticipate that all health, fitness, and sleep data collected by the smart ring will be seamlessly uploaded to the Samsung Health suite for comprehensive monitoring and analysis.
