Snapchat’s newest features enable users to personalize their accounts more effectively
Snapchat announced on Tuesday that it is rolling out new features aimed at personalizing user accounts, primarily for Snapchat+ subscribers. These updates include the ability to design personalized houses on Snap Map, share Snaps more swiftly, and customize Bitmoji avatars. Amidst ongoing competition where social media platforms emulate each other’s functionalities, Snapchat aims to differentiate itself by enhancing user personalization, thereby boosting interest in its subscription service, which currently boasts 9 million users.
Snapchat+ subscribers now have the ability to design personalized houses on Snap Map, visible to friends with whom they share their location. Users can customize their houses with different styles, colors, and themes, ranging from realistic designs to whimsical castles, offering a creative touch to their Snap Map presence.
This new feature aims to distinguish Snap Map from other location-based services such as Apple’s Find My and Life360, providing users with a unique way to express themselves and personalize their digital space.
Additionally, subscribers can now include their pets alongside their Bitmoji in chats. While pets were previously visible on Snap Map, this update allows users to have their pets accompany them throughout the app, enhancing personalization and engagement on Snapchat.
