Redmi Turbo 5 Tipped to Launch in India Alongside Redmi 17 5G

Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Date Tipped; Could Arrive Along With the Redmi 17 5G | Technology News

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly preparing to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in India soon, marking the debut of the Turbo series in the country. The company has already teased the smartphone, confirming a dual rear camera setup and hinting at at least one black colour option. The upcoming handset is expected to target users looking for flagship-level performance in the mid-premium segment.

According to a report by Smartprix in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar, the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch in India on June 18. The report further claims that Redmi may unveil the rumoured Redmi 17 5G alongside the Turbo series smartphone during the same event. However, the company has not yet officially confirmed the launch date.

The Indian variant of the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to retain most of the specifications seen on its Chinese counterpart. For reference, the smartphone was launched in China earlier this year with a starting price of CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 30,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The device features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.

With its high-refresh-rate screen, premium display features, and likely performance-focused hardware, the Redmi Turbo 5 could become a strong competitor in India’s upper mid-range smartphone market. More official details regarding pricing, storage variants, and availability are expected to be announced closer to launch.

Redmi Turbo 5 Series Tipped to Feature New MediaTek Dimensity Processors

The Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500e chips from MediaTek are still unannounced and are likely to be introduced in early 2026.

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to unveil the Redmi Turbo 5 series in China, with recent leaks pointing to an imminent launch. The lineup is expected to include the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, both of which are tipped to receive notable upgrades over the previous Turbo 4 models. Among the biggest changes could be the use of MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity processors.

According to information shared by Weibo tipster Panda is Bald, the Redmi Turbo 5 series will rely on MediaTek chipsets rather than Qualcomm alternatives. The standard Redmi Turbo 5 is said to feature the Dimensity 8500 SoC, while the higher-end Redmi Turbo 5 Pro could be powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9500e processor. MediaTek has not officially announced either chip so far.

Battery capacity appears to be another major highlight of the upcoming series. The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is rumoured to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery along with 100W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the regular Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to house a slightly smaller 8,000mAh battery, though it may still offer the same 100W charging speeds.

The Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500e processors are believed to debut in early 2026, potentially making the Redmi Turbo 5 lineup among the first smartphones to adopt these chips. The Dimensity 8500, in particular, is said to be built on TSMC’s 4nm process and could deliver clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz, positioning the series for strong performance in its segment.

Redmi Turbo 5 Likely to Launch Internationally as Poco X8 Pro After 3C Certification Appearance

Redmi Turbo 5, tipped to launch as Poco X8 Pro globally, has been spotted on the 3C certification site, signaling an imminent release. The listing under model number 2511FRT34C points to a China debut this month, with a global launch likely following under Poco branding. Leaks suggest the handset will feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset, a high-capacity battery (8,000–9,000mAh), and a metal frame with IP68 dust and water resistance. Certifications also reveal support for 100W fast charging, hinting at a high-performance device.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on X (formerly Twitter), the Redmi Turbo 5 could indeed make its global debut as the Poco X8 Pro, following the company’s strategy of rebranding its Turbo-series smartphones for international markets.

The phone’s Dimensity 8500 SoC is built on TSMC’s 3nm process, featuring an all-big core configuration: one Cortex-A725 at 3.4GHz, three additional A725 cores, and four efficiency-tuned A725 cores. Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G720 GPU clocked at 1,500MHz, promising smooth performance for gaming and multitasking.

With its combination of a large battery, ultra-fast charging, and a premium metal build, the Redmi Turbo 5/Poco X8 Pro is shaping up to be a formidable mid-range contender. The official launch is expected soon, likely confirming these specifications and offering more details on pricing and availability.
