Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to unveil the Redmi Turbo 5 series in China, with recent leaks pointing to an imminent launch. The lineup is expected to include the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, both of which are tipped to receive notable upgrades over the previous Turbo 4 models. Among the biggest changes could be the use of MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity processors.

According to information shared by Weibo tipster Panda is Bald, the Redmi Turbo 5 series will rely on MediaTek chipsets rather than Qualcomm alternatives. The standard Redmi Turbo 5 is said to feature the Dimensity 8500 SoC, while the higher-end Redmi Turbo 5 Pro could be powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9500e processor. MediaTek has not officially announced either chip so far.

Battery capacity appears to be another major highlight of the upcoming series. The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is rumoured to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery along with 100W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the regular Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to house a slightly smaller 8,000mAh battery, though it may still offer the same 100W charging speeds.

The Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500e processors are believed to debut in early 2026, potentially making the Redmi Turbo 5 lineup among the first smartphones to adopt these chips. The Dimensity 8500, in particular, is said to be built on TSMC’s 4nm process and could deliver clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz, positioning the series for strong performance in its segment.

Redmi Turbo 5 Likely to Launch Internationally as Poco X8 Pro After 3C Certification Appearance

Redmi Turbo 5, tipped to launch as Poco X8 Pro globally, has been spotted on the 3C certification site, signaling an imminent release. The listing under model number 2511FRT34C points to a China debut this month, with a global launch likely following under Poco branding. Leaks suggest the handset will feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset, a high-capacity battery (8,000–9,000mAh), and a metal frame with IP68 dust and water resistance. Certifications also reveal support for 100W fast charging, hinting at a high-performance device.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on X (formerly Twitter), the Redmi Turbo 5 could indeed make its global debut as the Poco X8 Pro, following the company’s strategy of rebranding its Turbo-series smartphones for international markets.

The phone’s Dimensity 8500 SoC is built on TSMC’s 3nm process, featuring an all-big core configuration: one Cortex-A725 at 3.4GHz, three additional A725 cores, and four efficiency-tuned A725 cores. Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G720 GPU clocked at 1,500MHz, promising smooth performance for gaming and multitasking.

With its combination of a large battery, ultra-fast charging, and a premium metal build, the Redmi Turbo 5/Poco X8 Pro is shaping up to be a formidable mid-range contender. The official launch is expected soon, likely confirming these specifications and offering more details on pricing and availability.

Redmi Turbo 5 Expected to Debut With 7,500mAh Battery and 6.5-Inch 1.5K LTPS Screen

The Redmi Turbo 5 is shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s most ambitious mid-range smartphones yet, with new leaks revealing significant upgrades over its predecessor. Expected to launch next year as the successor to the Redmi Turbo 4, the device has already appeared in multiple online reports detailing its hardware and design. The latest leak now claims that the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a 6.5-inch LTPS flat display with a 1.5K resolution, a slight reduction in size from earlier rumours of a 6.6-inch screen. The phone is also said to sport a sleek metal frame, signaling a move toward a more premium design language in the Turbo lineup.

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (via Gizmochina), the upcoming device is expected to pack a massive 7,500mAh battery — one of the largest capacities seen in a mid-range phone — coupled with support for 100W wired fast charging. This would represent a major leap over the Turbo 4’s 6,550mAh battery, promising extended endurance and faster top-ups. The combination of a large battery and high-speed charging could make the Turbo 5 particularly appealing to users who prioritize long-lasting performance and minimal downtime.

In terms of durability and usability, the Redmi Turbo 5 is reportedly designed with a metal frame and could feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance — another notable improvement for a device in this segment. Security is also said to be enhanced with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, replacing the side-mounted scanner seen on the previous model. If these details hold true, the Turbo 5 could position itself as one of the most refined and durable smartphones in Redmi’s mid-range portfolio.

While Xiaomi has yet to confirm any of these specifications, the leaks suggest that the company is aiming to push the boundaries of its Turbo series with flagship-level features at a more accessible price. Between the upgraded display, massive battery, and refined build quality, the Redmi Turbo 5 could offer one of the most compelling value propositions in its class when it officially launches in 2025.
