Podcasts are a popular way to share stories, opinions, and insights with listeners. YouTube has been a home for podcasts for a long time, but now it’s making it easier for podcasters to reach their audience and monetise their content.
YouTube is rolling out new features in YouTube Studio that allow podcasters to easily publish their podcasts on YouTube and YouTube Music. Podcasters can also benefit from the Podcast shelves on the YouTube Music homepage, which will help listeners discover and engage with their podcasts.
Podcasts on YouTube Music will also be available for on-demand, offline, and background listening, which means podcasters can earn more from ads and subscriptions on the platform.
More ways to make money
YouTube also offers creators other ways to make money from their content and connect with their fans. One of them is fan funding, which lets creators offer exclusive content and benefits to their fans through channel memberships or Super Chat during live streams.
Fan funding has been growing in India, with more than 10 percent increase in the number of channels that earned a majority of revenue from fan funding products in December 2022 compared to the previous year, according to YouTube.
Another way to earn money is through branded content, which is when creators partner with brands and agencies to create and promote sponsored content. YouTube has launched BrandConnect, a branded content platform that helps creators and advertisers collaborate and measure the impact of their campaigns.
BrandConnect is now accessible to eligible creators and selected advertisers in India, streamlining the process of finding suitable matches and facilitating the smoother execution of branded content campaigns.
