Apple is reportedly working to integrate AI into the Vision Pro
Apple’s AI ambitions extend well beyond its recent Apple Intelligence launches on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company plans to integrate these advanced AI features into its Vision Pro headsets.
While not surprising, this move highlights Apple’s commitment to making Apple Intelligence (which includes an enhanced Siri, proofreading tools, and custom emojis) a central part of its ecosystem across all devices. However, the Vision Pro remains a high-priced device with a limited audience, and integrating these features poses unique challenges. Apple needs to rethink how these AI features will function in a mixed reality environment, rather than just on a standard screen.
Gurman notes that Apple Intelligence will not be available on the Vision Pro this year. To improve user experience, Apple is updating its in-store demos of the headset, allowing potential buyers to view their personal media on the Vision Pro and switching the headband from the Solo Loop to the Dual Loop for added comfort.
In other news, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest supply chain survey suggests that Apple plans to mass-produce AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026. These new AirPods could offer enhanced spatial audio experiences and gesture controls when used with the Vision Pro, further integrating Apple’s AI capabilities across its product lineup.
