Apple’s $129 Pencil Pro debuts with a squeeze sensor and Find My functionality

It’s hard to believe that nearly a decade has passed since Apple introduced the first Apple Pencil in 2015. Despite its popularity, the stylus has seen minimal updates over the years. The most notable improvement came in 2018 with the addition of magnetic charging. Last year, Apple released a more affordable model with fewer features and USB-C charging.

Recognizing the need for a substantial upgrade, Apple has introduced the Apple Pencil Pro, which was highlighted at the recent “Let Loose” event. This new model includes a sensor that enables a squeeze function, allowing users to switch between brushes seamlessly. Additionally, the Pencil Pro features a haptic sensor, providing tactile feedback for a more interactive user experience.

The new Apple Pencil Pro introduces a highly anticipated feature: Find My, making it easier to locate the device when it inevitably gets lost between couch cushions. This premium model is designed to be compatible with both the new iPad Pro and iPad Air. When paired with the iPad Pro’s M4 chip, the Pencil Pro unlocks new capabilities, such as real-time bokeh effect adjustments.

Priced at $129, the Apple Pencil Pro is available for preorder now and will begin shipping next week.
