The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has provided scientists with the first-ever detailed glimpse of weather on a world without a host star, uncovering swirling storms and glowing auroras. The object, known as SIMP-0136, is a brown dwarf located just 20 light-years away in the constellation Pisces. Often referred to as a “failed star,” this rogue world drifts freely through space, completing a full rotation every two and a half hours.
