Meta Enhances AI with Advanced Image Generation and Multilingual Capabilities

Meta AI now supports image generation and multilingual text processing, including French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Meta AI received a major update on Tuesday, bringing significant enhancements to its capabilities and expanding its availability. This latest version of the AI chatbot, which integrates into WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, is now accessible in 22 countries, including new regions such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Cameroon. The rollout aims to make Meta AI more widely available and useful across different locales.

One of the key updates includes expanded multilingual support. The chatbot can now understand and respond in a variety of languages, including French, German, Hindi (in both Devanagari and Roman scripts), Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Meta plans to introduce support for additional languages in the future, further broadening the chatbot’s accessibility and user base.

In addition to language support, the update introduces new image generation and editing features. The “Imagine Me” feature allows users to upload their own photos and then use text prompts to generate personalized images. For example, users can prompt the AI to create images of themselves in different scenarios, such as “on a beach vacation” or “as royalty.” This feature is currently in beta and is available only in the US.

Moreover, the update enhances the ability to edit AI-generated images. Users can now make inline modifications by providing additional text prompts. This means they can alter specific elements of an image, such as changing a boy eating ice cream to a boy eating cake, or adjusting colors, hairstyles, and backgrounds. Next month, Meta plans to add an “Edit with AI” button to further refine these images.

Meta is also improving how users can share their AI-generated images. The company is integrating Meta AI more seamlessly across its platforms, allowing users to share images within feeds, stories, and comments on Instagram and Facebook, as well as in messages on all three apps. This integration aims to make the AI features more interactive and accessible to users.

Overall, this update reflects Meta’s commitment to enhancing the functionality and reach of its AI technologies, making them more versatile and user-friendly across different languages and regions.
