Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphones could arrive with higher price tags in the US, according to a new report ahead of the company’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The leak suggests that both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will see price increases over their predecessors, with Samsung also expected to introduce a wider foldable design alongside new AI-powered features.
According to a report by SE Daily, Samsung is in the final stages of determining US pricing for its upcoming foldables. The publication claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with 256GB of storage could be priced at $2,099 (roughly Rs. 2,00,300), making it around $100 (roughly Rs. 9,500) more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which launched at $1,999 (roughly Rs. 1,90,700).
The report attributes the expected price increase primarily to rising memory component costs, although it notes that Samsung’s adjustment is relatively modest compared to some of the larger price hikes seen elsewhere in the smartphone industry. In addition to the Ultra model, Samsung is also said to be preparing a wider foldable device, though specific details about its design and hardware remain under wraps.
Beyond hardware upgrades, Samsung is reportedly planning to integrate Google’s Gemini Intelligence across the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup from day one, bringing advanced AI capabilities to its latest foldable devices. The company is expected to officially unveil the new smartphones during its Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22, when pricing, specifications, and global availability are likely to be confirmed.
