MediaTek Unveils Hybrid AI Computing Strategy at Computex 2025

At Computex 2025, MediaTek unveiled a series of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) innovations designed to power a broad range of devices and platforms. Central to its showcase was the company’s first hybrid computing solution, aimed at enhancing AI performance at the edge by combining on-device AI processing with high-speed 5G connectivity. This approach promises to deliver faster, low-latency AI experiences while ensuring data privacy, setting the stage for more responsive and secure AI applications in smart homes and beyond.

MediaTek’s hybrid computing concept integrates its AI-powered Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) gateway with advanced AI capabilities directly on the device. Currently in the prototype phase, this solution has already undergone successful proof-of-concept trials with a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider. The company demonstrated an AI Hub that acts as a centralized control center, enabling on-device AI agents to work together and serve as personal assistants. This technology aims to allow users to control multiple smart home devices simultaneously through natural language commands, making connected living more intuitive and efficient.

Beyond hybrid computing, MediaTek revealed new AI-focused chipsets targeting various markets. One notable announcement was a new chipset designed specifically for in-car infotainment systems, bringing enhanced AI-powered features such as voice recognition, personalized user interfaces, and real-time data processing to vehicles. This expansion into automotive AI aligns with MediaTek’s broader strategy to embed AI capabilities across diverse platforms, including Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which the company also highlighted at the event.

MediaTek also showcased its collaboration with Nvidia on the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, touted as the world’s smallest AI supercomputer. Designed for the DGX Spark system, this superchip can execute up to 1,000 trillion operations per second (TOPS) and run AI models containing up to 200 billion parameters locally, a significant leap for on-premise AI processing. Collectively, these innovations underscore MediaTek’s commitment to advancing AI technology at multiple levels—from edge devices and smart homes to automotive and cloud computing—driving forward its vision of a seamlessly AI-powered future.

Intel Debuts Arc Pro B-Series GPUs With Built-In XMX AI Cores and Enhanced Ray Tracing Capabilities

Intel has officially launched its Arc Pro B-series graphics processing units (GPUs) at Computex 2025, targeting the growing demand for high-performance GPUs in professional workstations and AI inference tasks. Designed with larger memory capacities and expanded software compatibility, these GPUs aim to serve developers, creators, and engineers who require robust computational and graphical power. The lineup includes two models: the Intel Arc Pro B50 and Arc Pro B60. Both GPUs are built on Intel’s latest Xe2 architecture and come equipped with advanced ray tracing units and Intel’s Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX) AI cores.

The Arc Pro B60 GPU will hit the market first, with availability beginning in June 2025 through Intel’s add-in board partners such as ASRock, Gunnir, Maxsun, and Sparkle. Intel has yet to announce the pricing for this model. The Arc Pro B50, on the other hand, will be available starting July via Intel-authorized resellers at a price of $299 (roughly Rs. 25,500). These GPUs come in a variety of partner board form factors, allowing flexibility in deployment across different workstation builds.

Specifically tailored for professional-grade applications, the Arc Pro B-series GPUs are built to handle demanding workloads such as 3D rendering, real-time ray tracing, and AI model inference. Intel claims that these GPUs offer up to 3.4 times better graphical fidelity and up to 3.5 times higher inference performance in AI models like Stable Diffusion when compared to Nvidia’s RTX A1000 8GB. These performance gains highlight Intel’s ambition to compete in the enterprise GPU market, particularly for creators and AI developers.

In addition to the hardware upgrades, Intel has also emphasized its commitment to improving the software stack that supports the Arc Pro B-series. With optimized drivers and expanded compatibility for professional applications, users can expect smoother performance across workflows in CAD, media production, and AI training. The launch of the Arc Pro B-series marks a strategic move by Intel to not only bolster its presence in the GPU space but also cater directly to industries increasingly reliant on AI-driven computation and high-end graphics.

At Computex 2025 in Taipei, MSI introduced the latest addition to its handheld gaming PC lineup with the announcement of the MSI Claw 8. Building on the success of last year’s Claw 8 AI+ model, the new Claw 8 is equipped with AMD’s powerful Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, combined with fast LPDDR5-8000 memory for smooth multitasking and gaming performance. The device features an 8-inch full HD+ IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, designed to deliver sharp visuals and fluid gameplay on the go. Alongside this launch, MSI also revealed an upgraded Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition, now boasting a massive 2TB NVMe SSD for ample storage.

The MSI Claw 8 packs impressive hardware under the hood, including up to 24GB of LPDDR5x-8000 dual-channel RAM and PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage, running on Windows 11 Home. Graphics performance is driven by AMD Radeon GPU integration, ensuring rich and immersive gaming visuals. The 8-inch display supports 100% sRGB color coverage, variable refresh rate (VRR), and reaches a peak brightness of 500 nits, making it suitable for gaming in various lighting conditions. Audio is powered by dual 2W speakers with DTS Audio Processing to enhance the overall sound experience.

Connectivity is robust with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring fast wireless connections. The device also includes two USB 4.0 Type-C ports featuring Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort support, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for versatile peripheral compatibility. Measuring 299.5 x 126.2 x 24 mm and weighing 765 grams, the MSI Claw 8 offers a portable yet substantial form factor suitable for extended gaming sessions.

Additional features include a six-axis IMU vibration motor for immersive haptic feedback and a fingerprint reader for secure biometric authentication. Powering the device is an 80Wh six-cell Lithium-Polymer battery, designed to provide long-lasting usage for gamers on the move.
