Samsung Confirms One UI 8.5 Update for Galaxy S25 Series With Call Screening and New AI Features

Samsung is rolling out its first One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series | Android Central

Samsung is reportedly preparing to broaden the reach of its Galaxy AI capabilities with the upcoming One UI 8.5 update. This move signals the company’s intent to bring several advanced features, initially introduced with the Galaxy S26 series earlier this year, to a wider lineup of Galaxy smartphones. Although a complete list of supported devices has not yet been officially released, early details suggest that flagship models will be prioritised before the update gradually rolls out to more devices.

A moderator on the Samsung Community forum has indicated that the One UI 8.5 update will include enhanced Galaxy AI tools such as call screening. Notably, the Galaxy S25 series has already been confirmed among the eligible devices, making it one of the first to receive these new capabilities. This addition is expected to improve user experience by offering smarter communication management and more intelligent on-device features.

The announcement comes after a period of uncertainty regarding the availability of these AI features on older devices. Previous responses from Samsung’s support channels had implied that some of the newer tools might remain exclusive to the latest hardware, which sparked concerns and criticism among users. The latest clarification appears to address those concerns by confirming a broader rollout strategy.

With One UI 8.5, Samsung seems focused on strengthening its AI ecosystem across its smartphone portfolio rather than limiting innovations to newer models. As more details emerge, users can expect clearer timelines and a comprehensive list of devices set to receive the update, along with region-wise rollout plans.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Expected to Feature Telephoto and Ultra-Wide Cameras Like Galaxy S24 FE; Launch Date Rumored

Samsung is gearing up to release the Galaxy S25 FE in select global markets later this year, continuing its tradition of offering a more affordable version of its flagship phones. According to recent leaks, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to come with notable camera upgrades, particularly an improved front-facing camera compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 FE, which sports a 10-megapixel selfie sensor. However, reports now indicate that the telephoto and ultra-wide camera modules on the new model may closely resemble those found on the current Fan Edition phone.

The Galaxy S25 FE is rumored to feature an 8-megapixel telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom, maintaining parity with the Galaxy S24 FE’s telephoto shooter. Additionally, the ultra-wide camera is expected to remain unchanged, using a 12-megapixel sensor equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lens. These camera choices suggest Samsung aims to balance cost and performance, delivering familiar and reliable optics for fans of the FE series.

In terms of launch timing, the Galaxy S25 FE may debut in late September or early October, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE—a foldable phone rumored to be the first Fan Edition foldable model. Beyond the rear cameras, the Galaxy S25 FE is also tipped to feature a 12-megapixel front camera, offering a slight bump in selfie resolution from the previous model’s 10-megapixel sensor. The main rear camera is likely to stay consistent with the Galaxy S24 FE’s 50-megapixel primary sensor.

On the performance front, a Geekbench listing revealed the Galaxy S25 FE (model number SM-S731U) might be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chipset, contradicting earlier rumors about a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. There are also reports suggesting the phone could use the same Exynos 2400e chip as its predecessor. Regardless of the exact processor, the upcoming FE model is expected to continue offering solid mid-range performance, appealing to consumers looking for flagship-like features at a more accessible price point.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Price, Storage, and Colour Variants Leaked for European Market

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which was recently showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, is expected to officially launch in April. The device has also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, hinting at a potential launch in India as well. While Samsung has not made an official announcement yet, leaks surrounding the price, storage configurations, and color options for the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge have begun to surface. This model is expected to be a part of the Galaxy S25 series, which was introduced globally in January, featuring the new Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and running on Android 15-based One UI 7.

As per recent reports, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be priced between EUR 1,200 (around Rs. 1,13,400) and EUR 1,300 (approximately Rs. 1,22,900) for the 12GB + 256GB storage variant in Europe. This price range is expected to vary slightly depending on the country, but it provides a clear idea of what to expect in terms of pricing. The S25 Edge will offer users a premium experience, with a price point that reflects its high-end specifications and design.

For those looking for more storage, the 512GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will likely be priced between EUR 1,300 (roughly Rs. 1,22,900) and EUR 1,400 (about Rs. 1,32,300). This variant offers more space for apps, media, and other data, appealing to users who need extra storage for their content. The pricing strategy places the S25 Edge in a competitive range within the premium smartphone segment, particularly when compared to other flagship devices in the market.

Leaks suggest that the Galaxy S25 Edge could be priced at around $999 (approximately Rs. 87,150) in the US, aligning it with other high-end smartphones in the market. Along with the pricing details, there have been hints at several color options for the Galaxy S25 Edge, offering potential buyers a variety of choices to match their style. The upcoming release of the Galaxy S25 Edge is set to generate considerable interest, thanks to its impressive features and premium design, making it a strong contender in the flagship smartphone market this year.
