Samsung has officially launched its first-ever smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, at the company’s second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, held in Paris. This innovative wearable was introduced alongside the latest Galaxy Z foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Ring marks Samsung’s foray into the smart ring market, offering a range of health tracking and sleep monitoring features. It is available in three finishes and offers nine different sizes, catering to a wide range of users.

Pricing and Availability The Samsung Galaxy Ring is priced at $399 (approximately Rs. 34,000) and will be available for pre-order in select markets starting July 10, with general availability slated for July 24. Customers can choose from three colors: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold. The smart ring’s sleek design and advanced functionality aim to make it a desirable accessory for health-conscious individuals.

Specifications and Features The Galaxy Ring is available in nine sizes, ranging from five to 13, and comes with a sizing kit to help users find the perfect fit. The ring features 8MB of internal memory and is equipped with a PPG (Photoplethysmography) sensor that monitors heart rate irregularities. Additionally, it includes a temperature sensor and accelerometer, providing comprehensive insights into users’ well-being.

 

 

Health and Wellness Capabilities Samsung’s Galaxy Ring runs on the Samsung Health platform and includes several advanced health-tracking features. It utilizes Galaxy AI to offer personalized recommendations through Energy Score and Wellness Tips. The ring’s sleep AI algorithm tracks various sleep metrics, such as movement, latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate, helping users improve their sleep patterns. It also includes Cycle Tracking for monitoring menstrual cycles through skin temperature analysis.

Enhanced Features In addition to health tracking, the Galaxy Ring offers instant notifications for heart rate alerts via the Samsung Health app. It includes Auto Workout Detection and Inactive Alerts to keep users motivated and active. The smart ring also provides convenient features such as photo capture and alarm dismissal on paired Galaxy smartphones. The Find My Ring feature helps users locate their ring using Samsung’s Find My service.

Water Resistance and Build The Galaxy Ring boasts a durable design with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and it is certified for 10 ATM water resistance. Weighing between 2.3 grams and 3.0 grams, the ring’s lightweight build ensures comfort for all-day wear. Its long battery life, lasting up to seven days on a single charge, further enhances its appeal as a practical and functional wearable.
