Apple is expanding its device protection lineup with AppleCare One Family, a subscription that brings eligible products from up to six people in a Family Sharing group into one plan. Priced at $49.99 per month and available from September 14, it gives households a single option for managing coverage across multiple devices.
The plan includes accidental damage protection and priority access to Apple support. That means covered products can receive service for incidents such as drops and spills, alongside help with technical problems. However, the monthly subscription does not eliminate every repair expense: applicable service fees and deductibles still need to be considered.
Theft and loss protection applies to eligible iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch devices, with up to six claims shared across the family each year. This is a combined allowance for the group, rather than six claims for each person. Device eligibility and the conditions attached to coverage remain important when reviewing the plan.
Newly purchased eligible products are added automatically without raising the monthly subscription price. This could simplify coverage management as family members replace or add devices. The practical value will depend on the household’s eligible products, existing protection plans and potential service costs.
