Adobe Unveils Project Music GenAI Control: Innovative AI-Powered Music Generation Tool
Versatile Capabilities: Adobe’s Music Generating AI Tool for Clip Creation, Editing, and More
Adobe’s latest experimental endeavor, Project Music GenAI Control, introduces a pioneering AI-based tool poised to revolutionize the music creation process. Unveiled on Wednesday, this innovative platform empowers users to seamlessly generate music from simple text prompts, offering unprecedented levels of creative control. Beyond mere music generation, Project Music GenAI Control affords users pixel-level precision, enabling them to manipulate, edit, lengthen, shorten, remix, and loop music clips with unparalleled granularity. Leveraging advanced AI algorithms, Adobe has crafted a versatile solution that promises to redefine the boundaries of music composition and editing.
At the heart of Project Music GenAI Control lies a sophisticated music creation and editing interface, reminiscent of conventional AI tools. Users are presented with a straightforward text field where they can input plain text prompts, ranging from genre-specific requests such as “happy rock song” to more nuanced directives like “intense hip hop beats” or “sad jazz.” Upon submission, the AI algorithm springs into action, generating bespoke music clips tailored to the user’s specifications.
Notably, the generated compositions feature exclusively instrumental arrangements, devoid of vocal elements, ensuring a seamless integration into a diverse array of creative projects. However, the capabilities of Project Music GenAI Control extend far beyond mere music generation, promising a multifaceted platform equipped to meet the evolving needs of music creators and enthusiasts alike.
While Project Music GenAI Control represents a significant leap forward in AI-powered music generation, it is but one facet of Adobe’s ongoing commitment to harnessing the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Building upon the recent introduction of an AI assistant for Acrobat and Reader, which revolutionized PDF summarization and analysis, Adobe continues to push the boundaries of innovation across diverse domains. As Project Music GenAI Control evolves and matures, it holds the promise of democratizing music creation, empowering users of all skill levels to unlock their creative potential and embark on immersive musical journeys unlike any before.
As per Adobe, once the music track has been created, users then can access multiple editing tools to change how the music sounds. Some of these tools can change the intensity, structure, tempo, and more at any point of the clip. Users can further customise it to their preference by extending its length and adding another sequence to the music, remixing a part or entirety of the clip, or even turn it into a repeating loop.
One particular feature of the AI music generator is that it lets users change the audio using a reference melody, which can be any modern or classic music piece. Once done, user can change the style and genre of the music. Adobe says this deep control over the generated clip makes it easy to use as a video intro, for podcasts, to create songs and music pieces, and more.
On data privacy, Adobe claims that it only used publicly available data to train its AI model. The company has not shared any details around the architecture of the foundation model or the interface, so no other details are known. It is worth mentioning that Adobe is not the only player in the AI music generation space. Google has its own music generator called MusicLM which is under development, and Meta has its AudioCraft, which is an open-source AI model for music generation and is available on GitHub.
