Xiaomi 15 Series Rumored to Run on Unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC

According to a recent report, Xiaomi’s upcoming 15 series is poised to introduce a range of groundbreaking features, marking a significant leap forward from its predecessor. Comprising variants such as the standard Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the next generation of Xiaomi’s flagship lineup is rumored to incorporate an advanced in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a departure from the optical fingerprint scanner found in its predecessor.

This move underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to innovation and elevating the user experience, positioning the Xiaomi 15 series as a formidable contender in the competitive smartphone market.

The speculation surrounding the Xiaomi 15 series doesn’t stop there, as another report suggests that these devices could be powered by the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is yet to be officially announced. This potential integration of cutting-edge hardware further cements Xiaomi’s reputation for delivering high-performance devices equipped with the latest technological advancements. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset at its helm, the Xiaomi 15 series promises to deliver exceptional speed, efficiency, and overall performance, catering to the evolving needs of tech-savvy consumers.

Recent leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station, as reported by GizmoChina, shed light on Xiaomi’s efforts to implement a new fingerprint scanning technology, specifically an in-display ultrasonic sensor, for the Xiaomi 15 series. It is speculated that Xiaomi may opt for ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology developed by Goodix, known for its cost-effectiveness compared to similar solutions offered by Qualcomm.

This strategic move not only enhances the security and convenience of biometric authentication but also underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies while maintaining competitive pricing, further solidifying its position as an industry leader in the smartphone arena.

An earlier report also highlighted that the Xiaomi 15 series could be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is yet to be announced. The processor might be announced in October 2024, and considering the Xiaomi 14 series debuted in China in the same month last year, the Xiaomi 15 series could be among the first smartphones to be powered by the chip.
