Global Expansion: Samsung Launches AI-Integrated Bixby Worldwide

During its January Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its latest innovation, Galaxy AI, a suite of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features introduced alongside the launch of the Galaxy S24 series. Among the array of new capabilities showcased were features like Call Assist, Interpreter mode, Transcript Assist, and more, all designed to enhance user experience.

Now, in a move aimed at further streamlining user interaction, the South Korean tech giant has seamlessly integrated these AI features with its native virtual assistant, Bixby, on a global scale. In a recent announcement shared via its global Newsroom, Samsung emphasized the convenience brought forth by this integration, stating, “With Bixby, users can quickly bring up and activate Galaxy AI features hands-free, taking away the need to physically search through your device to find the feature of your choice.”

This move aligns with a broader trend in the industry, as Google recently integrated its AI-powered chatbot app, Gemini, with Google Assistant on Android devices, offering users enhanced functionality and accessibility. With this integration, users now have the ability to directly command their Galaxy S24 series smartphone using voice prompts, enabling seamless access to AI features.

As an illustrative example, users can simply say, “Hi Bixby, turn on Interpreter,” to initiate real-time language translation during conversations, eliminating the need for manual navigation through menus. This integration represents a significant step forward in Samsung’s commitment to leveraging AI technology to empower users and streamline their mobile experience.

This feature was launched in the US on February 16, but now it has been rolled out globally. The AI-integrated Bixby will support Chinese, English (US, UK, and India), French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain) and Spanish (Latin America) languages. One thing to be noted is that not all of the features will be available through voice commands. Features such as Instant Slow-Mo and Photo Editing will still require users to manually access them.
