Oppo has officially teased the imminent launch of its Oppo A59 5G smartphone in India. Although the precise launch date remains undisclosed, the company recently shared an image on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), hinting at the device’s design and available color variants. Notably, the Oppo A59 5G features a centrally positioned waterdrop-style notch, housing the selfie camera. This upcoming 5G-enabled phone is anticipated to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Oppo A58 5G, which debuted in India back in November of the previous year. Furthermore, a reliable tipster has provided insights into the expected specifications and potential pricing of this forthcoming device.
Through a post on its official X account, Oppo has announced the arrival of the new Oppo A59 5G in India. The teasers show the handset in a golden shade with curved screens. It appears to have thin bezels on the sides and thick bezels on the top and bottom. The handset is seen with a centrally located waterdrop-style notch to house the selfie shooter. It will offer dual rear cameras as well. Oppo, however, didn’t disclose the exact launch date, or the key specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
However, known tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) has leaked the pricing details of the Oppo A59 5G on X. According to the tipster, it will be priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It is said to come in starry black and silk gold colour options.
According to recent leaks, the Oppo A59 5G is expected to operate on Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1, boasting a generous 6.56-inch LCD display that supports a swift 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it’s rumored to be driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, potentially paired with a maximum of 6GB RAM and offering storage options of up to 128GB. Camera-wise, the device may house a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 13-megapixel primary lens complemented by a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, an 8-megapixel selfie camera is speculated to handle self-portraits and video calls, potentially rounding out the device’s imaging capabilities.
The upcoming Oppo A59 5G is anticipated to come equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery, reportedly featuring rapid 33W fast charging support to ensure efficient power replenishment. Furthermore, leaked details suggest that the device might boast a thickness of approximately 8.12mm and weigh in at around 187 grams, presenting a balance between substantial battery capacity and a reasonably slim and lightweight profile.
