If you’ve noticed thumbs-up bubbles or confetti appearing on your screen while gesturing during a video call, you’re not alone. Many assume this is a feature of Zoom or WhatsApp, but it’s actually an Apple feature integrated into iOS and Mac. Fortunately, you can disable the reactions feature to prevent these effects from showing up during your work calls. Here’s how:

1. On iOS (iPhone and iPad):
– Go to the Settings app.
– Scroll down and tap on FaceTime.
– Find and toggle off the Reactions option.

2. On macOS (Mac):
– Open the FaceTime app.
– Go to the FaceTime menu in the top-left corner.
– Select Preferences.
– Uncheck the box next to Reactions.

By following these steps, you can ensure that thumbs-up bubbles and confetti won’t appear on your screen during video calls, keeping your work environment more professional.

Thank you for the clarification! To turn off reactions for all video calls on your Mac using the FaceTime app, you can follow these steps:

1. During a Video Call:
– While you are in a video call using FaceTime on your Mac, click on the Video menu in the menu bar.
– The Video menu is represented by a green camera icon located at the top of your screen.
– From the drop-down menu, select Turn Off Reactions.

This will disable reactions such as thumbs-up bubbles and confetti from appearing on your screen during all video calls on your Mac.
