Sony Launched The WH-1000XM5 With Improved ANC At $300

The WH-1000XM5 from Sony elevates audio quality and enhances active noise cancellation compared to its predecessor, the WH-1000XM4.Sony has unveiled the WF-1000XM5, succeeding its widely acclaimed WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds. According to the company, these new earbuds promise improved active noise cancellation along with superior audio and call quality.

As for the design, the WF-1000XM5 seems to have shed some weight and size with Sony claiming that they are 25 per cent smaller and 20 per cent lighter compared to their predecessor. The audio quality of WF-1000XM4 was already one of the best, but Sony seems to have incorporated 24-bit audio processing and high-performance analog amplification.

The new earbuds also come with improved microphones that make use of bone conduction technology which detects vibration on the wearer’s voice directly from their skull bones and help reduce background noise while isolating your speech from ambient sounds even in loud environments. Like all premium Sony earbuds, you also get multipoint connectivity, Spatial Audio with head tracking and 360 Reality Audio support.

Sony asserts that the WF-1000XM5 can deliver up to 8 hours of battery life with ANC activated and 12 hours with ANC deactivated on a single charge. Additionally, the case provides an extra 16 hours of playback with ANC on and 24 hours without noise cancellation. The charging case takes approximately 2 hours to reach full capacity.

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds are available in two colours – black and white and are priced at $299.99, which roughly translates to Rs 24,560.
