Google I/O is scheduled to take place

As the sun peeks out behind the clouds and the birds serenade the day, it’s clear: developer season is on the horizon. While many enjoy the outdoors, developers worldwide are gearing up for conferences to discover the latest in AI and operating systems. It all starts next week with Nvidia’s GTC, followed by Microsoft Build, Apple’s WWDC, and, of course, Google I/O in the coming months.

Invitations have just been sent out for Google I/O, scheduled for May 14 and 15 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California – the customary venue. As I jot this down, I’m outdoors, with a plane towing a banner flying overhead, and yes, a bird just bestowed upon me its unexpected gift (no joke).

Needless to say, I feel fully prepared for the upcoming event. With two months to go, there’s time to arrange travel plans, and rest assured, we’ll be there (I might bring a hat this time).

Google I/O 2024 is Set for May 14th, Expect Pixel 8a, Android 15, Android XR, and More Announcements

While Google I/O primarily caters to developers across various Google-operated systems, the event typically kicks off with a keynote led by Sundar. Anticipate updates on Android, Wear OS, Gmail, and more, alongside potential reveals of consumer hardware (perhaps the Pixel 8a?). And of course, there’ll be plenty of exciting announcements about Gemini and other AI advancements.

Skydivers may make an appearance, but unfortunately, the bird droppings are just part of the job. Such are the perils of outdoor work, I suppose.
