Boat Immortal Katana Blade Review: Unleashing Beast Mode for Avid Gamers with Earbuds Excellence

Navigating the realm of gaming earbuds can be a challenge. We tested the boAT Immortal Katana Blade, and here’s our take.

This year I have tried close to seven earbuds, and all of them came up with something unique. Some offered stellar audio with hyper-sensitive touch response, while some had a distinct vigour that would make them an enduring pair of earbuds for years to come. My ears have gotten used to in-ear TWS that comfortably stayed in place immersing me in music on the go. Recently, I had the chance to experience boAT Immortal Katana Blade earbuds. The unique name piqued my interest, as Katana always equated to brutal action with blades.

To be honest, I am not a fan of non-in-ear headphones – I have had my reservations. For some, this could be mostly about comfort, which is subjective. I finally laid my hands on the packaging which I found to be edgy and futuristic. It gave me the impression that the makers have put a lot of thought into creating something that is unique and caters to the aesthetic palette of avid gamers.

Look and feel

One of the biggest draws of the Immortal Katana Blade is its case which stands out. It looks like a miniature silver chest that could be potentially carrying the Tesseract (a fleeting reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe). I was in for a surprise when I slid the case, a first-time user would be stunned by the ‘schiing’ sound effect each time you open the case.

A lot of attention to detail must have gone into replicating a scabbard and the sword effect. This to me felt like carefully crafted to lure gamers, in essence, each time they open the case, the sounds employ the needed theatrics to embark on their action-packed gaming sessions. The dynamic RGB LEDs on the case make it an eye-catching contraption.

What about the sound?

I am not an avid gamer, but it doesn’t take much to notice the relative difference when there is 50ms latency which the company claims to be in its Beast Mode. I am impressed by the sound. The earbuds offer rich, crystal-clear audio that is not only great for music lovers but is a bonus for gamers. When tested with Call of Duty, the earbuds offered pinpoint precision when it came to footsteps, gunshots, and explosions. Thanks to the 13mm driver, one could hear each detail.

When it comes to music, the bass is deep and also a bit subdued, while the mids and highs are crisp. I could play my usual Illayaraja tracks as well as tracks from Surf Rock Is Dead, and the out has been good. I also used the headphone to stream movies on Netflix, the output was compelling and could allow anyone to binge-watch shows. The Immortal Katana Blade comes with the ASAP Charge feature which could give 180 minutes of playtime on charging for 10 minutes.

Verdict

Crafted specifically for gamers, the boAT Immortal Katana Blade earbuds are a go-to choice for any dedicated gamer seeking top-notch audio within their budget. These earbuds deliver exceptional sound quality, immersive lighting, minimal latency, and a long-lasting battery life.
