Tecno Camon 30 series was launched in Nigeria on Wednesday, April 3. The lineup includes the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G, Camon 30 5G, and the base Camon 30 models. These were initially unveiled in February this year at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The smartphones are powered by MediaTek chipsets and carry 5,000mAh batteries each, with support for up to 70W wired fast charging. They also get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The India launch of the handsets has not yet been confirmed.
The 8GB + 256GB option of the base Tecno Camon 30 is priced at NGN 2,73,000 (roughly Rs. 17,100), while the 12GB + 256GB variant is listed at NGN 3,21,500 (roughly Rs. 20,200). This model is offered in Iceland Basaltic Dark, Sahara Sand Brown, and Uyuni Salt White colourways.
Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon 30 5G model is marked at NGN 4,52,000 (roughly Rs. 28,400), while the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is priced at NGN 5,38,000 (roughly Rs. 33,800). The former is available in Emerald Lake Green, Iceland Basaltic Dark, and Uyuni Salt White colour options. The Pro model comes in Iceland Basaltic Dark and Alps Snowy Silver shades.
All three models in the Tecno Camon 30 series feature MediaTek chipsets, although specific models were not disclosed. Each handset boasts a 5,000mAh battery, with the Pro variant supporting 70W fast charging, while the 5G and base models support slightly lower wattages. The series is also equipped with stereo speakers featuring Dolby Atmos support, enhancing the audio experience for users.
One of the standout features of the Tecno Camon 30 series is its camera setup. The smartphones sport a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, designed to deliver high-quality selfies and video calls. The rear camera configurations vary among the models but are expected to include advanced features like optical image stabilization (OIS) and night mode.
The Tecno Camon 30 series comes with large, vibrant displays, likely to be around 6.7 inches, providing a rich visual experience. The design of the smartphones follows modern aesthetics with slim profiles and minimal bezels, available in various attractive color options.
Apart from the robust hardware, the Tecno Camon 30 series runs on the latest version of Android with Tecno’s HiOS on top, offering a user-friendly interface and additional software features. Connectivity options include 5G support for the Pro and 5G models, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.
The launch of the Tecno Camon 30 series in Nigeria sets the stage for its potential availability in other markets. The pricing strategy and feature set make it a compelling choice in the mid-range smartphone segment, particularly for users seeking high-performance devices with excellent camera capabilities.
