Scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, the event will give players a deeper look at upcoming games for Sony’s flagship console and VR system. This marks another major showcase following the PlayStation Showcase earlier this year.
State of Play Details and Timing
The highly anticipated State of Play broadcast is set to begin at 3pm PT / 6pm ET on Tuesday, translating to 3:30am IST on September 25, Wednesday, for viewers in India. Sony has confirmed that the presentation will last over 30 minutes, though the company has not disclosed the specific titles that will be featured during the event. Gamers are excited to see if there will be new trailers, gameplay footage, or perhaps surprise announcements for both highly anticipated titles and undisclosed projects.
What to Expect from the Event
The broadcast is expected to cover both exclusive PS5 titles as well as games compatible with the PS VR2, Sony’s second-generation virtual reality headset that has gained attention for its immersive features. Fans are speculating that the showcase could offer updates on major upcoming titles like Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, or even new announcements related to PlayStation’s growing VR library.
Focus on PS VR2 Games
PS VR2 has been one of Sony’s key pushes this year, and the upcoming State of Play will likely dedicate significant time to highlighting the future of virtual reality gaming on PlayStation. Sony’s focus on this new hardware suggests that several immersive and potentially groundbreaking titles could be announced or updated, offering more variety for PS VR2 adopters.
Rumors and Speculation
Ahead of the event, there have been leaks and rumors suggesting that titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine or new IPs could make an appearance. Fans are also hopeful for a possible update on the rumored Silent Hill reboot or a tease of new content for God of War Ragnarök. Whatever the final lineup, the State of Play event is bound to generate excitement, with both exclusive PlayStation titles and third-party collaborations likely to feature.
How to Watch
The event will be streamed live on PlayStation’s official channels, including YouTube and Twitch, allowing gamers from all over the world to tune in. As always, the event will be available to watch after the live broadcast as well, so fans who can’t catch it live will still have access to all the announcements and trailers.
