New IHRM Feature for Galaxy Watches in India Accessible via Samsung Health Monitor App
Samsung has announced that its Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRM) feature will now be available on the Galaxy Watch 7 and other previous models in India. This update marks a significant enhancement for Samsung’s range of smartwatches, allowing users to monitor their heart health more closely. The IHRM feature, which utilizes the advanced BioActive Sensor found in Samsung’s smartwatches, is designed to detect irregularities in heart rhythm that could indicate atrial fibrillation (AFib), a serious cardiovascular condition.
Previously, the IHRM feature was accessible on Samsung smartwatches in other markets globally, but this marks its introduction to the Indian market. The company’s decision to expand this capability underscores its commitment to providing advanced health monitoring tools to users worldwide. The feature aims to offer an additional layer of health awareness and proactive management for users concerned about their heart health.
The IHRM notifications will be available across several generations of Samsung’s smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4. Users can access this new feature through the Samsung Health Monitor app. By integrating IHRM with existing functionalities such as Blood Pressure and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, Samsung aims to enhance the comprehensiveness of its health tracking offerings.
When the IHRM feature detects irregular heart rhythms, it will prompt users to perform an ECG to obtain a more detailed measurement. This proactive approach allows users to take timely action and consult healthcare professionals if necessary, potentially preventing serious health issues. The feature is designed to work seamlessly in the background, providing users with valuable insights into their heart health without requiring constant manual input.
To activate the IHRM feature, users will need to update the Samsung Health Monitor app via the Galaxy Store. Once updated, users can enable the feature through the settings menu of the app. This straightforward setup process ensures that users can quickly benefit from the new health monitoring capability without extensive configuration.
The introduction of the IHRM feature highlights Samsung’s ongoing efforts to enhance the functionality and health benefits of its wearable technology. By expanding this feature to the Indian market, Samsung is providing users with advanced tools to monitor their cardiovascular health, reinforcing its position as a leader in smart wearable technology and health innovation.
