Infinix Smart 8 Teased for India Launch: Design, Color Variants Unveiled Ahead of Release

Infinix Smart 8 Global Variant Runs on Unisoc T606 SoC: Powering Performance Worldwide

The impending launch of the Infinix Smart 8 in India has been teased following its recent unveiling in Nigeria. While specifics regarding the Indian variant remain undisclosed, Infinix has provided insights into some key features and color variants tailored for the Indian market. Expectedly, the Indian edition is anticipated to align closely with the global model in terms of specifications. Concurrently, Infinix has also introduced another variant from the Smart 8 series, the Infinix Smart 8 HD, marking its earlier debut in the country this month.

In an official press release, Infinix confirmed the imminent arrival of the Infinix Smart 8 in India without divulging the exact launch date. Alongside this announcement, the company offered a glimpse of the handset’s design and color options. The showcased images depict the phone exhibiting a wooden-textured back panel in color variations of black, gold, and white.

The Indian iteration of the Infinix Smart 8 is set to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside an unspecified secondary AI-assisted sensor, complemented by a ring LED light unit positioned at the rear. On the front, an 8-megapixel sensor for the front camera, coupled with an LED flash, is anticipated. Additionally, the phone will introduce the “Magic Ring” feature, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island, designed to display notifications and pertinent alerts.

Since the Indian variant of the Infinix Smart 8 is likely to be similar to the global version, it is likely that it will share its specifications. The global variant of the handset carries a 6.6-inch HD+ (1,612 x 720 pixels) display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness level of 500 nits.

The global variant of the Infinix Smart 8 is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard memory. The RAM is expandable by an additional 4GB and the storage is extendable via a microSD card. The phone ships with Android 13-based XOS 13.

Backed by a 5,000mAh battery, the Inifnix Smart 8 supports 10W wired charging via a USB Type-C port. In Nigeria, the handset is offered in Crystal Green, Galaxy White, Timber Black, and Shiny Gold colour options.
