Mark Your Calendar: Potential Launch Date for Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Reportedly Set for January 17
As the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series looms on the horizon, a whirlwind of leaks and teasers has inundated the online sphere, igniting fervent anticipation among tech enthusiasts. Amidst the speculation, it’s expected that the lineup, comprising the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra, will debut imminently. Recent leaks have illuminated the series’ AI-centric prowess, showcasing the potential to erase objects seamlessly from videos, among other AI-powered functionalities.
Adding fuel to the excitement, a recent leak by tipster Arsène Lupin (@MysteryLupin) on X, formerly Twitter, unveiled intriguing marketing material unveiling a new facet: the AI photo editing capabilities of the Galaxy S24 series. The leaked material hints at a feature called Generative Edit, drawing parallels to Google’s Pixel 8 series. This innovative tool purportedly enables users to move or remove objects from images while filling void spaces with generative edits. However, accessing this feature might necessitate users to log in to their Samsung accounts and remain connected to the internet.
What’s particularly intriguing is the absence of any indication that this capability would be confined solely to photos, raising the tantalizing possibility that it might extend to video editing, aligning with earlier speculations. Notably, Google’s Pixel 8 series boasts a comparable feature named Magic Editor, demanding a similar online tether for operation. Pixel devices have long been synonymous with AI-driven functionalities, compelling other brands to catch up. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 lineup appears set to embrace this AI wave, promising an array of AI features, with leaked materials hinting at the widespread availability of the Generative Edit feature across all models in the series.
The leaked image also suggests other features coming to the Galaxy S24 lineup such as Live Translate, which was recently announced by Samsung. This feature can translate live phone calls with the help of AI. The upcoming phones may also get a Nightography Zoom feature that is said to bring improvements to low-light photos taken from the telephoto camera on the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series is rumoured to launch on January 17, but an official announcement hasn’t been made yet. The lineup is said to use a custom variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in most regions, while some areas may get the Exynos 2400 chipset.
