The much-anticipated Sony Xperia 1 VI appears to be on the brink of making its debut in the market. Positioned as the successor to the Sony Xperia 1 V, which made its debut in May 2023, the Xperia 1 V boasted features like a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a robust 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, and a triple rear camera system featuring a 52-megapixel primary sensor, alongside two 12-megapixel sensors. While Sony has yet to officially disclose details about its successor, recent leaks have shed light on the purported Sony Xperia 1 VI.

Subsequent posts in the thread provided additional insights into the rear camera configuration of the potential device.

In keeping with the current generation, the Sony Xperia 1 VI is anticipated to feature a triple rear camera setup, albeit with different specifications. According to the leak, the camera system might comprise a 48-megapixel 1/1.4-inch Exmor T sensor with an impressive f/1.4 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, 48mm focal length, full-pixel dual-PD autofocus, and 2x optical zoom.

The other two units in the camera setup are also expected to be 48-megapixel Exmor T sensors. One is speculated to be a 1/2.7-inch sensor incorporating Sony’s 2×2 On-Chip Lens (OCL) technology, paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens featuring a focal length ranging from 14mm to 18mm.

Meanwhile, the other is purported to be a telephoto shooter with a similar resolution, boasting a 70mm to 135mm focal length. This telephoto lens is suggested to offer up to 3x optical zoom and up to 6x sensor crop zoom, expandable digitally up to 270mm. The leaked details hint at Sony’s commitment to delivering an advanced camera system, underscoring the potential imaging capabilities of the upcoming Xperia 1 VI.

Notably, the Sony Xperia 1 V features a 52-megapixel 1/1.3.5-inch primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 12-megapixel 1/2-inch sensor with an ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and another 12-megapixel telephoto shooter with 3.5-5x optical zoom and 15.6x hybrid zoom. The handset was priced at $1,399 (roughly Rs. 1,14,700) for its lone 12GB + 256GB option.
