Several users are experiencing UPI transaction failures due to a technical glitch affecting a few banks

Reports indicate that numerous users are encountering UPI transaction failures, with Downdetector displaying outages across several banks.

Several users took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that UPI transactions were not going through. In a tweet, the National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI, confirmed that some banks had been hit by an outage, causing UPI transaction failures.

“NPCI regrets the inconvenience caused by the UPI connectivity issues as some banks are experiencing internal technical difficulties. NPCI systems are functioning normally, and we are collaborating with these banks to achieve a swift resolution,” stated NPCI on X.

According to Downdetector, a website monitoring real-time service outages, several banks, including HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Kotak, and Bank of India, have been affected by an outage. Additionally, there were reported issues with Google Pay services; however, the company clarified that this could occur due to heavy traffic on bank servers.

As of the time of writing this post, HDFC Bank, in a tweet on X, confirmed that transactions were being processed. Nevertheless, the company acknowledged that the outage had impacted its services.
