The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may boast displays superior to those found in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.In September, the iPhone 15 Pro models were introduced, featuring a new Action Button that took the place of the Mute switch. Beyond adjusting the ringer settings, this versatile Action Button can execute various tasks such as activating the flashlight, launching the camera, or connecting with the Shortcuts app. Anticipated for release in the latter half of the upcoming year, the iPhone 16 series is expected to introduce significant design enhancements. There are rumors suggesting the inclusion of a Capture Button in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup, specifically designed for video recording.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman in his latest edition of the weekly newsletter Power On claimed that the iPhone 16 series will come with a new dedicated button for taking video. This mysterious button is expected to be called as “Capture Button”. Gurman goes on to say that the lower-end iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models would feature the new Action Button, which is currently exclusive on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Additionally, Gurman suggests that Apple would retain the iPhone 15’s design in the next lineup. However, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger displays than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED displays, respectively.
Display industry analyst Ross Young has previously suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature display sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively.
Although the iPhone 16 series is anticipated to launch in late 2024, numerous leaks about the lineup are already surfacing online. It is rumored that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with an A18 Pro Bionic chip, utilizing a 3nm manufacturing process, while the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will utilize a scaled-down version of the A17 Pro chip. Apple is expected to maintain the Snapdragon X70 modem in these phones. Additionally, the Pro models are speculated to come with Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and may feature a new ultra-wide lens on the rear.
